Brady's first break came on the ABC Series "Whose Line Is It Anyway" in 1998. He later was featured on "A Raisin in the Sun", which was a classic drama. Brady pursued something new called improvisational comedy at Orlando's Sak Theatre at which he proved to be very successful. He handled the pressure of instantaneous comedy improvs very well.
He eventually ventured to Hollywood. He appeared on TV series such as "I'll Fly Away" and "In the Heat of the Night". He also worked with Disney when he had a role in the TV movie "On Promised Land" in 1994.
Brady was cast for "Whose Line is it Anyway" in 1997. He worked with Drew Carey and he had four successful seasons with the British TV series. He was very good at improv comedy and was very talented at singing and dancing which led the audience to love his acts. He mastered the storytelling "Hoedown" and "Greatest Hits", which were humor filled TV commercial skits.
The success from "Whose Line is it Anyway" led to the opportunity of Brady having his own TV series on ABC. The "Wayne Brady Show was a comedy/ variety show.
Brady also performed a unique song medley at "The 52nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" in 2000. He also played a great role as Lazardo the magician in ABC's "Geppetto", in 2000.
