Headlining in clubs across the country, a favorite in Europe, and having toured with the USO, Paula is a true original.
Paula Bel began her stand-up career in San Francisco and has developed her act in predominately black rooms in Oakland. She auditioned for Mitzi Shore at the Comedy Store, where she worked my ass off every night in front of drunks at 1 am for the next four years.
She went on to the Laugh Factory, and after performing on "The Tonight Show," she left for New York.
She has worked with the best, way too many to name. I've idolized only one comic, Redd Foxx, and that was because he took care of his family and friends, kept a Christmas tree year round, and died owing this government millions in taxes. You can't get better in a human being than that.
Paula's numerous television appearances and writing style make her one of the most unique and funniest female comics performing today.
