Mel Brooks won an Academy award for best original screenplay in 1968 for the original "The Producers".
During the '70's Brooks was in , "Young Frankenstein" in 1974, "Blazing Saddles" also in 1974, "Silent Movie" in 1976, "High Anxiety" in 1978.
He continued his to put his humor on the big screen in the '80's too. In 1981, Brooks scored with "History of the World Part I", and in 1987 with the cult classic "Spaceballs".
Brooks has played himself on the hit HBO series "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
