Jon Stewart, is flat-out hilarious. The New Jersey native, went to New York City after college, dropped his birth name of Leibowitz, and the rest is history.
Well, not exaclty. As a stand-up comic, playing in dive clubs for years, he got his break when he was tabbed to host Comedy Central's Short Attention Span Theater (1991-92), a compilation show of clips of comedians.
From there, it was off to MTV. Then to the big screen with roles in Mixed Nuts (1994) and in The First Wives Club (1996).
In 1999, Jon Stewart was chosen to replace Craig Kilborn as the host of Comedy Central's satirical The Daily Show, beginning in 1999. Since then, he has been on fire, landing big-time interviews for satirical show.
Mr. Stewart has found a way to connect to America, young and old.
