Robert Guy Torry began his acting career around the age of 23. He made spot appearances in television shows such as Family Matters and Martin. He eventually appeared on Def Comedy Jam, the show his brother hosted and became a writer for that very show.
He also wrote for other television series such as Martin and Moesha among others. He started breaking into films in the mid 90's and has had parts in many films since then such as Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Life, and Trippin'.
His most notable role was as a convict named Lamont in American History X in which he helped turned a young Nazi-skinhead's life around while in prison.
