Emmy Gay was called one of New York's leading feminist comedians after performing at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China. The Pennsylvania Morning Call praised her for "elevating the alternative sensibility."

Emmy has had a lot of exposure. You can see her work on stage, television and commercials. She was on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as a game contestant, and an extra on the now defunct FOX series New York Undercover. She was a guest on UPN9's 9 Broadcast Plaza and was a featured performer for the WB11's WPIX Entertainment News and cable show Mary Beth and Friend. Emmy has also been on Lifetime Television, Nickelodeon, and USA's Up All Night.
 
Ms. Gay received the title of New York Comedy Diva after winning the Splash Show Us Your Nuts Comedy Contest. Emmy won that award five weeks in a row.
