David Koechner joined The ImprovOlympic where one of his teachers was famed acting guru Del Close. From his time at Second City, Koechner earned a spot on Saturday Night Live for one season, where he befriended Will Ferrell.
One of Koechner's best known roles is as "Champ Kind" in the Will Ferrell film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
He also has a recurring role as Todd Packer, the obnoxious salesman in the American version of The Office, and recently played gun lobbyist Bobby Jay Bliss in the film Thank You For Smoking. He also appeared in the thriller Snakes on a Plane as an airline co-pilot who realizes his plane is being inhabited by venomous snakes.
A frequent co-star and member of the Frat Pack, Koechner continues his association with Ferrell in the comedy Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
