Amy Poehler got her start in a comedy troupe while still a student at Boston College. After graduating from college Poehler quickly became well known on the comedy circuit. She joined the comedy group "Upright Citizens Brigade" in Chicago before moving to New York City for better opportunities.
After taking several stabs at the small screen Amy finally landed a recurring roll on "Saturday Night Live". She has also stared in box office hits such as "Mean Girls" and "Envy", both movies landed the number one spot on opening weekend.
Poehler's most recent big screen roll was in the musical comedy "Southland Tales". When she's not on the silver screen Poehler is in the "Staurday Night Live " studio preparing for her next performance.
