Tig Notaro(affectionately named by her brother as a child) was
born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised by her single mother.
While serving time in a Texas high
school, Tig failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than
entertaining the notion of a successful academic career.
After dropping out of school, and a
brief stint in the music industry while in Denver, she decided to lodge herself
firmly into the always fun and always easy world of comedy.
Most recently, Tig booked a supporting role in the feature
THE RUNAWAYS opposite Kristen Stewart, which is out in theatres now. This will be her third season recurring
as “Officer Tig” on THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM on Comedy Central and was a
series regular on ABC’S IN THE MOTHERHOOD opposite Megan Mullally and Cheryl
Hines. In previous years, she has
had her own half-hour comedy special, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS TIG and recurred
on Comedy Central’s critically acclaimed show DOG BITES MAN. She has also performed on ABC’S JIMMY
KIMMEL LIVE, NBC’s LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY and performed on SHOWTIME’s new
comedy series LIVE NUDE COMEDY which aired on Showtime last summer.
Tig performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, The UCB
Theater and at Largo in her monthly show, “Tig Notaro and Friends”…and of
course, headlining clubs, colleges, theaters and living rooms across the
universe.
