Hi, my name is Taylor. I'm a comedian. Please, read about me. I started performing stand-up comedy while I was a senior in high school in Del Mar, California. A year later, I moved to Los Angeles to attend college. With only 100 credits and a few years away from a degree, I decided to put my education on the hold to focus on a career that allows me to sleep past noon. To my family's surprise, things have worked out.
In 2006 New York Magazine called me a "Name to Watch" and a "nineteen-year-old cerebral wit". I looked up the definition of "cerebral" and was very flattered. Later that year I performed at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. After this performance, Variety Magazine called me a "20-year old Californian". That really meant a lot. The Montreal Gazette said I was a "twenty-year-old with nerdy delivery". I really don't know how I stay so humble. They rated my performance 7/10 stars, which is actually a 9.5/10 when converted to the American comedy rating system.
In 2007, I made two appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. After my network TV debut was posted on Youtube, I learned that I am gay and not funny. My performances at 2 NACA conventions have led to me being misquoted in college newspapers all around the country and reviewed by more comedy experts. The comedy director at a West Virginia university said, "Taylor's quirky, off-beat delivery was off-putting to some students. Others thought it was 'funny' and 'cute.'" So if you come see me live, be careful. I might make you laugh, or extremely confused. Those are two definite possibilities.
I moved to New York City in 2007 and made perhaps the first ever stand-up comedy performance on MTV's TRL, appearing on the same episode as New Kids on The Block. The show was cancelled two weeks later.
I have lots of exciting things coming up in the next 10 years. This includes appearances on David Letterman, an HBO special, a sitcom on the Disney channel, two failed marriages, a few stints in rehab, and a starring role in the 15th season of The Surreal Life.
