Mike DuganEmmy Award-winning writer and comedian Mike Dugan will explore what it takes to be a man in a world filled with boyish temptations in "Men Fake Foreplay," a one-man show at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Waterman Theatre.
In the touring show, created while Dugan performed throughout Europe for two years, he takes audiences through the male psyche in considering what influences a man's character. He explores such topics throughout the life cycle as getting "the talk," deciding who role models are, masculinity, responsibility and trust, commitment and men's relationships with women.
Dugan's experience includes writing television shows for a number of comedians including Dennis Miller, Tom Arnold, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Paul Rodriguez, Stephanie Miller and George Hamilton. Dugan won an Emmy for his writing on HBO's "Dennis Miller Live," and he was nominated for Cable Ace and Writers Guild of America awards.
He has toured as a comedian throughout North America and Europe, opening for musical acts such as Roy Orbison, Ricki Lee Jones, Chuck Berry, Harry Belafonte and Shawn Colvin. Dugan has won the San Francisco International Standup Comedy Competition and made more than 70 television appearances.
