In May 2006, after graduating from Emerson College, Harris Wittels moved to Los Angeles to pursue comedy full-time. At the age of 22, less than a year after he arrived in LA, he became a staff-writer on The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central. Sarah saw him perform a set at the Largo Comedy Club, and quickly hired him thereafter. In 2007, he picked up a Writers' Guild of America award nomination for "Best New Series"for his work on The SSP. He can be seen on-screen in various guest-starring roles on the program.
At 23, he made his national TV stand-up debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Now, at the age of 24, Harris has already written for MTV's sketch show,Human Giant, as well as both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Movie Awards. He tours colleges around the country with The Office's B.J. Novak. He also regularly tours clubs and theatres with comedians such as Louis C.K., Sarah Silverman, Todd Glass and others.
While in Los Angeles, he performs frequently at the UCB theatre with his acclaimed sketch comedy troupe, Hendershaw. He has performed at UCB's popular improv show, Asssscat!. He often performs at UCB's premiere stand-up showcase, Comedy Death-Ray. He can also be seen onstage at the Hollywood Improv.
